DR. BART SOKOLOW

SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR

Dr. Bart Sokolow is a scientific advisor to FolFry, providing specialized expertise to the firm’s clients in the cleantech, renewable energy and sustainability sectors, among others. Credentialed as both a Registered Professional Engineer and a Registered Environmental Assessor, Sokolow possesses decades of experience in scientific and environmental consulting.


In addition to his association with FolFry, Sokolow is president of Los Angeles-based Environmental Advisors, Inc., an environmental consulting firm.


Environmental Advisors interprets, translates and communicates highly technical scientific data for consumption by lay people and scientists alike. Additionally, it provides environmental and scientific counsel to banks, insurance companies, real estate developers and law firms.


Prior to establishing his own firm, Sokolow served as executive vice president of Coastline Financial Corporation. He maintained correspondent relationships with over 125 lending institutions, oversaw commercial lending activity, directed environmental liability assessment and compliance programs, quality assurance procedures and governmental compliance requirements.


Previously, he served as adjunct assistant professor of environmental science and engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to teaching in a multidisciplinary applied environmental studies doctoral program, he directed major studies for the U.S. Department of Energy.


Sokolow began his career in various capacities for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.


Sokolow was awarded a B.S. in biotechnology, a M.S. in energy and kinetics, and a doctorate in environmental science and engineering all from the University of California, Los Angeles.
